Trends come and go. Media platforms rise and fall. But poster is eternal. It’s our specialty. Over the last three decades, Joe has literally created thousands of them, from his early days hand drawing flyers for the Perth underground scene, to recent national and international tours for the likes of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Tame Impala, PJ Harvey, Sufjan Stevens, Angel Olsen, Calexico, The Waifs and countless others. Red Room has never lost touch with its roots though - on any given day, you’re just as likely to find us creating an A3 cafe poster for a band you’ve never heard of. Yet.

No one in Western Australia has designed more single / EP / album covers than Red Room. In fact, with hundreds under our belt, that record could hold true for the whole of the country. From debut independent releases for garage bands right through to iconic designs for big players such as Karnivool, The Kill Devil Hills, The Stems, Pond, Abbe May and more, we’ve had Australian music covered for nigh on two decades.

It’s the face of your business. That face should be attractive to your audience, sure. But we believe there has to be something going on behind those pretty eyes too. At Red Room we create brands that are more than just good looking. They must reflect your personality as well as your business. There’s got to be a quirk. An idea. A playful twist. As earnings from physical music sales diminish, merch is becoming an important both as a source of revenue for artists and a tangible thing for fans to hold in their hands and take home. This is a new aspect to Red Room, however photography has long been a pastime and a passion for us. We are by no means a fully fledged photographic service but we do have good glass and a good eye.
